About Me

I am a largely self-taught artist living in Toronto, Canada.  Creating art is not my full-time job, but I get enormous satisfaction in creating works of beauty and meaning.  I initially started drawing as a hobby, but then it grew to a form of therapy that allowed me to cope with day-to-day stresses.  Not long after, I branched out to creating portraits for other people, and I was touched by the responses I got.  My journey has re-ignited my passion for art, and I continue to grow and thrive with the challenges that come my way.

Other things I enjoy: watching movies/shows (e.g. Star Trek, The Lord of the Rings, Stranger Things, Firefly), reading books (science fiction and the classics), and spending time with friends and my two fur babies.

About My Art

"In Loving Memory..."

I strive to create pieces that reflect not just the verisimilitude of the subject, but the emotional elements as well.  Our memories fade, and the last thing we want is to forget a face or a moment that gave meaning to our lives.  I specialize in custom, hand-drawn portraits that can capture such an instant.  Some examples of what I do:

  • Draw from a single photograph source (old/aged or new, digital or film)

  • Combine different photograph sources for a group portrait

  • Use a variety of media / tools / surfaces

  • Draw both animals and humans

Fan Art

I also love to draw figures from popular culture, especially if they're in the science-fiction, fantasy, and comic book worlds.  If you have someone in your life who is passionate about these characters and you would like to give them a one-of-a-kind gift, please don't hesitate to reach out and inquire further.  I'm always happy to oblige fellow fans!
